Taking the LSAT
All ABA-approved law schools require applicants to take the LSAT as part of the admissions process. The extent to which schools weigh the test varies. A low score, however, will impede your chances for admission.
The LSAT is administered four times a year: June, September/October, December and February. Most students take the test in June after their junior year or in the fall of their senior year.
It is essential that you prepare for your exam well in advance of the exam date. The Law School Admissions Council (LSAC) publishes a variety of materials to help you prepare for the test. To obtain information on the LSAT and test preparation materials, visit the LSAC website.
For students who encounter difficulties in preparing for the LSAT, expensive test preparations are an option; it is up to you to know the best way to prepare.
LSAC Fee Waiver
Applications for an LSAC fee waiver can be completed online. All fee waiver applicants must have an LSAC online account in order to take advantage of the new process. They should apply for a fee waiver prior to registering for the LSAT or CAS. Additional information about any new fee waiver procedures can be found at www.LSAC.org under LSAT or LSDAS general information or under LSAT & CAS Fees.
